Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer is a key role within the engineering team, focused requirements analysis, decomposition and allocation in addition to architecture development employing SysML modeling in order to deliver the highest levels of performance to the platform and crew for the Next Generation Combat Vehicle/Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (NGCV/OMFV) program.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Review Customer requirements for compliance, and elicit system operational & functional concepts
  • Allocate, decompose and derive requirements to subsystems and components, and trace to ensure successful vehicle integration
  • Assure appropriate flow-down of design constraints
  • Perform SysML modeling as assigned to include behavior, structure and parametric modeling.
  • Coordinate cross-functional reviews with other engineering disciplines
  • Develop and maintain product and subsystem level specification
  • Support the IPTs in developing critical item specifications.
  • Support and adhere to all company safety and environmental regulations & policies.
  • Undertake other duties as determined by the Systems Engineering manager or his/her delegate.

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily.
  • Ability to communicate with management and staff to establish productive relationships.
  • Must display strong listening and analytical skills in order to understand customer concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs.

Education:

  • Required: BSc Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Aerospace)
  • Desired: MSc Engineering desired (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Computer, Management)

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in systems engineering on DoD programs – ground vehicles preferred
  • Experience presenting technical solutions to internal stakeholders
  • Experience with configuration control and baseline management
  • Experience in Requirements development
  • Experience using SysML for system modeling
  • Background Prerequisites:
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance desired
  • Knowledge of Military Standards and regulations desired
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering Standards/Processes iaw ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288
  • Direct experience using Magic Draw Cameo tool suite
  • Direct experience using DOORS Next Gen
