Job Summary:

The Manager of the Systems Engineering and Integration Team is a key role within the engineering team to plan and lead the systems engineering effort across the integrated product development teams. The SEIT Manager chairs the Systems Engineering and Integration Team and establishes the agenda and battle rhythm for conducting the program systems engineering effort. This role establishes/implements the key products and processes to manage and control the technical baselines over the product life cycle as assures compliance to the technical contract requirements.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage the SEIT
  • Manage and control the technical baselines
  • Lead/develop the systems engineering management plan
  • Develop, mature and maintain the product structure
  • Assure appropriate configuration management is applied
  • Assure the requirements and architecture development is complete and comprehensive
  • Oversee the technical decision process/ trade studies
  • Establish and oversee technical performance measures
  • Assure adequate and appropriate verification planning
  • Establish and oversee the interface working group for ICD development
  • Plan and structure engineering technical reviews, SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, SVR & FCA
  • Assure program technical contract deliverable data items present a consistent technical baseline

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Yes, project based leadership skills

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Applied working knowledge of Systems Engineering and Requirements related processes
  • Detailed knowledge in Systems Engineering and related Standards/Processes
  • Knowledge and experience with model based systems engineering methods
  • Ability to present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Familiarity with the ground vehicle requirements
  • Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development a plus
  • Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a variety of settings and be able to assimilate complex instructions easily. Ability to communicate with all levels of management and staff to establish productive relationships. Superior consultation, diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills is required. Must possess the ability to explain complex concepts in a way that makes sense to someone less knowledgeable about the topic.
  • Must demonstrate an enthusiasm to engage with and support overseas colleagues to ensure all staff have the information and opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities.
  • Must promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and its external service providers. Must be tactful, diplomatic, and work with integrity, honesty, and respect for others.
  • Must display exceptional listening and analytical skills in order to understand customer concerns and needs with the ability to respond promptly and effectively to those needs.
  • Shall support and encourage performance by motivating individuals and teams to achieve high performance. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with the US team, suppliers, customer, and corporate parent staff.

Education:

  • BSc Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Aerospace)

 

Experience:

  • 20 years’ direct experience in systems engineering on DoD programs
  • Direct experience in a systems engineering leadership role
  • Experience conducting requirements and architecture development
  • Experience is configuration control and baseline management

 

Background Prerequisites:

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance desired
  • Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulations desired
  • MSc Engineering desired (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Computer, Management)
