Job Summary:

Lethality is a key function within the project engineering team, with immediate focus on delivering the XM30 Combat Vehicle Program. This field is responsible for defining and delivering the end to end force projection systems that ensure the effective defeat of threats on the future battlefield.

Lethality technologies include electro-optic sensors, weapon systems, ammunition stowage/feed systems and gun/turret drive systems. A lethality engineer must use elements from their multi-domain engineering experience and coursework to understand these individual vehicle systems and their interactions. The overall vehicle and relationships between subsystems must be understood to provide robust lethality solutions that bring new capabilities to the soldier. All lethality engineers will get cross-training across these areas but initial assignments will focus on immediate needs for current programs.

This primary role for this lethality position focuses on integrating weapon and turret pointing systems. The turret drive system is responsible for taking user and fire control inputs and translating them into rate/position signals to move the lethality package. Precise control of the system ensure accurate hits on target at long ranges and while on the move. This engineer will be our primary interface to the gun/turret drive system manufacturer and will coordinate integration activities with vetronics and fire control as well as turret structures. Experience with position sensors and servo/motor control loops is required.
