Combat Vehicle Program Manager I

Job Summary:

This key senior leadership position is a pivotal role within American Rheinmetall Vehicles (ARV) focusing on the successful delivery of the critical Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV) program, but also includes additional ARV projects as Rheinmetall Combat Vehicle products are transitioned to the US defence market. The Combat Vehicle Program Manager is responsible for delivering the program outcomes to successful completion and for managing the OMFV program project team as a first step.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Functions:

  • Direct Support to OMFV Program Manager and other Combat Vehicle Programs.
  • Support a large complex portfolio of internal investment projects.
  • Perform a key role in the continued development and maturation of ARV Program Management tools and processes.
  • As a member of ARV Capture and Proposal teams preform lead role in developing compliant and wining proposals.
  • Lead a team by example, ensuring adherence to all agreed process and operating procedures.
  • Manage relationships with all stakeholders to ensure performance is optimized and be able to manage the political dimensions associated with a high profile program.
  • Working with key stakeholders continue to mature the organizational structure within the ARV team to promote clear responsibilities and opportunities for team members to succeed in their roles.
  • Support delivery and control of a large scale project/projects
  • Continuous Improvement of processes/efficiencies as well as product portfolio.
  • Undertake other duties as directed by the Director, Programs or his/her delegate.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)

  • Knowledge of the US DoD process and procedures for vehicle development and procurement.
  • Familiarity with the US Army TACOM/ and GVSC.
  • Practical ‘hands on’ attitude with the ability to operate independently.
  • Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and Regulations.
  • Ability to present technical / commercial / contractual solutions to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Understanding and training in PMP, 6 Sigma, LEAN principles, Systems Engineering
  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain US Defense security clearance.
  • PMP Certified

 

Education:

  • BSc in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, Vehicle Technology, Systems Engineering or equivalent work experience

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 Years’ Experience in delivering large complex US Defense programs, preferably in vehicle domain from start to serial production
  • Experience in working in a multi-national, multi-organizational and corporate environment.
  • Experience in capture, bid contract negotiations, and planning delivery.
  • Experience with i.e. program management tools such as Earned Value Management, DELTEK Suite of Program Management Tools, MS Project, SAP

 

Background Prerequisites

  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • The ability to speak German is desired Certificate i.e IPMA – (Level A,B) required / strongly desired
